3 months post op...

Not much to report this week...

Still in "Hip-Hell" gggrrrr, particularly on the left and having to pop a few more pills during the day to cope with the increased pain. Also very stiff in the mornings and late at night. I'm thinking that the hip pain may be the result of my increased mobility and hydro sessions. I'm remembering that my surgeon said that I will have set-backs on/off during the first 12 months - so I'm guessing this is one of them... Managed to get in the pool 3x last week - just doing simple exercises, floating around and getting some heat (sauna, especially) in my bones certainly helps. Seeing physio later today with regards getting into a specialist back class - not quite sure what the class entails, will report back next week.

Still absolutely wiped out mid-afternoon but at least I'm managing to get a decent sleep these days - the full body pillow really has made all the difference in correctly aligning my body when I sleep on my side. Dr. Vic calls it "The Borg Barrier", work that one out!!! ;-)
Note: for one week - w/c 26 January - Lidl are selling full body pillows for £9.77 each

Some of you bloggers out there may have read Angela's blog comments throughout my recovery - well, she is having her Dynesis op this Thursday. GOOD LUCK ANGELA, my thoughts and prayers are with you...

Still thinking of you and reading your blog regularly. Sorry to hear you are still so up and down pain wise but try and keep your chin up Kel. I am sure by the summer with a bit of warm weather to your bones things will be a whole lot brighter. Lots of Love Kim and Tony

Hi Kelly,
I found you on the Spine-Health forum & thought I'd check out your blog. I'm 47 & have arthritis, fibromyalgia, DDD, spinal stenosis, 2 herniated disks L4 L5 area. Am scheduled to have Dynesys Dynamic stabilization sustem surgery on March 4th.

I been searching to find out how others are doing post sugery & haven't found a whole lot of info. I am totally happy & have confidence in my surgeon & this has helped a lot. I found out today that I will have 2 incisions on either side of my spine which will be 3" long. Not too bad.

My hubby will be home with me for as long as I need him which is awesome. I also have a 12 yr. old son at home, although he's in school till 4:30 all week. He can help at time too though.

Anyway I wanted to say hi & now I plan to read your story. I only skimmed threw real fast so far. I also have a blog but it's all about scrapbooking & cardmaking. Mainly card making really.

I haven't posted much of my scrapbooks.

Hugs Janis
